In August 2007 we attended 'The Piper's Gathering in Killington, Vermont. This was a great opportunity to gain tips from other players, get some experience playing in front of an audience and attend classes by two NSP 'greats', Colin Ross and Dick Hensold. I hope you can hear the effect it had on my playing.

The music below was handed out by Colin Ross. The four Billy Pigg pieces are part of a compilation of Billy Pigg's compositions and favorite pieces (available from the Northumbrian Piper's Society?). I find myself going back to this book whenever I want something fun to play.

I discovered that Colin Ross (Chairman and Technical Adviser to the Northumbrian Piper's Society), who lives in Monkseaton where I grew up, was taught by my Father 'Mick' and played fiddle with my Uncle Stanley at many of the Folk Dance gatherings held over the years.
